Getting the best reply

The more you put in the first message, the better the first answer.

Nobody enjoys the four email dance where each side slowly works out what the other meant. Put the whole picture in at the start and we can skip straight to something useful, and often to something already built.

If you want something built

  • Who you are and what the business does. A sentence is plenty.
  • What you would love to have working. In your own words. You do not need the technical terms and we would rather you did not guess at them.
  • Your website, if you have one. This is the single most useful thing you can include, because it often lets us build you something to look at before we reply.
  • Anything you already know about budget, timing or the machines you have. Not required, and it does speed things up.

If something is broken

  • Which product and which edition you are running.
  • What you did and what happened instead. The order of events matters more than the exact wording of any error.
  • A problem report if the app offered to save you one. It carries the version and hardware details, and never your keys.
  • Never send a password, a licence key or a vault file. We will never ask you for any of them.

What happens next

  • A person reads it. Not a ticketing system, not an auto responder that closes itself after a week.
  • You get a straight answer. Including when the honest answer is that we are not the right people for it.
  • Often a demo comes back with the reply. Where you have given us enough to work with, we would rather show you than describe it.
While you are writing to us

Your name stays
your business.

We do not publish a client list, we do not run a portfolio, and nothing you send us is used for anything other than answering you. If we build something for you and you would like people to know it was us, that is your decision to make and not ours.

Office and hours

Where we are, and when we are at our desks.

London

  • A.N.D Sovereign Group UK Limited

Hours

  • 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. That is when you can expect an answer as a matter of course.
  • In practice it is usually wider than that. Messages sent early, late or at the weekend often get picked up the same day, and we would rather quietly beat the hours than pad them.
  • Everything is UK time, and we work with clients wherever they are.

Email rather than phone

  • We work by email, deliberately. It means your request arrives written down, in your words, and nothing is lost or half remembered from a call.
  • It is faster for you too. A written enquiry gets a considered answer, often with something already built in it, rather than a call that ends in "leave it with us".
  • Every client has an account manager to email directly once work is under way.
