Acceptable use

What our software and this website must not be used for. Privacy is not a shield for harm, and a tool that runs on your own machine is still your responsibility.

Applies to the siteApplies to the softwareApplies to the API
We cannot see what you do. That makes this policy matter more, not less.

Our software runs locally and sends us nothing. We have no telemetry, no usage logs and no ability to inspect your prompts or output. We could not monitor you if we wanted to, and we have built things deliberately so that we cannot.

So this policy is not a system we police. It is the boundary of the licence we grant you. Use our software for the things below and you no longer have permission to use it — and, far more importantly, you are likely breaking the law in your own jurisdiction, where the consequences are real and are yours.

This policy applies to this website, to Sovereign Inference and our other software, and to the local API our software exposes. It sits alongside our terms of use, the licence supplied with the software, and our privacy policy.

Prohibited uses

You must not use our software or this site to:

•  Break any applicable law or regulation, or help anyone else to.

•  Create, obtain or distribute material that sexually exploits or abuses children, or that sexualises a child in any form. There is no exception to this for research, testing, fiction or curiosity.

•  Produce or assist material that is unlawfully harassing, threatening, defamatory, or that incites violence or hatred against any person or group.

•  Develop or refine weapons, including chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear ones, or anything designed to cause serious physical harm.

•  Create malware, ransomware, exploits, or tooling intended to gain unauthorised access to computers, accounts or data.

•  Impersonate a real person or organisation in order to deceive, or generate content presented as genuine when it is not — including fraudulent identity documents, fake reviews and synthetic media used to mislead.

•  Conduct fraud, phishing, scams or any scheme to obtain money, credentials or data by deception.

•  Process personal data unlawfully, or build systems for surveillance, tracking or profiling of people without a lawful basis and their rights respected.

•  Infringe anyone's intellectual property, or circumvent technical protection measures.

•  Make automated decisions about a person's legal rights, safety, employment, credit, housing, insurance or access to essential services without meaningful human review.

Models, output and the local API

What you choose, you are responsible for.

You supply the models. We do not provide, host, vet or endorse them, and a model you download carries its own licence and its own restrictions — some forbid commercial use, some forbid particular applications. Complying with the model's licence is your responsibility, not ours.

Output is generated by the model you chose, not by us. It may be inaccurate, biased, offensive or entirely fabricated, and it is presented with the same confidence either way. You are responsible for checking it before you act on it, publish it, or put it in front of anyone else.

Our software can expose a local interface so other programs on your machine can use your model. Anything you allow through that interface is your decision. If you give the access key to another program, that program can send prompts and read output; if you widen access beyond your own device, everything done through it remains your responsibility.

This website

Using the site itself.

Do not attempt unauthorised access to this site or anything connected to it, introduce malicious code, scrape it in a way that degrades it for others, or use our contact forms to send bulk, automated or abusive messages.

Do not redistribute our installers from other locations while presenting them as official, or modify them and continue to use our name. We publish checksums so people can verify what they have; passing off an altered build defeats that and puts people at risk.

Enforcement

What we can and cannot do.

Be plain about the limits: because our software runs entirely on your device and reports nothing to us, we generally cannot detect a breach of this policy, and we do not attempt to. We will not add surveillance in order to enforce it — that would break the promise the product is built on.

What we can do is withdraw permission. Breaching this policy terminates your licence to use our software, and we may block access to this website and to our downloads. Where we become aware of activity that appears seriously unlawful, we may report it to the relevant authorities and cooperate with them, and we will comply with valid legal process — noting that we can only ever hand over what we actually hold, which is set out in the privacy policy.

Reporting

Tell us if you see something.

If you believe our software or this site is being misused, or you have found a security vulnerability, write to us at Contact@ANDSovereign.com. Please give us enough detail to look into it, and give us reasonable time to respond before disclosing a vulnerability publicly. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine security issue to us in good faith.

Questions about this policy

Not sure whether something is allowed?

Ask before you build it. We would far rather have the conversation early than find out later that someone assumed wrongly.
